Responsible for the leadership, organization and direction of physician  services for Madonnaâ??s Lincoln and Omaha campuses. Madonnaâ??s physician services is organized under a dyadic leadership model with the Physician Practice Administrator functioning as the Administrative Leader. Responsible for effective and efficient operations of Madonnaâ??s Physician Services including supervision of staff. Ensures quality delivery of services, policy development, management of Physician Services facilities, external contracts and business relationships. Responsible for management of the processes for professional visits conducted by employed and contracted fee for service clinicians. Assists and collaborates with the VP of Medical Affairs/Chief Medical Officer in providing leadership and direction in planning, directing, and coordinating physician activities including Physician Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program. Conducts regular analysis and management of financial outcomes for Physician Services and physician practice budget.  Responsible for compliance with state and federal regulations related to physician practice and Physician Services.  Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer satisfaction for Madonna as a whole while upholding Madonna's mission and values. 




  1. Develop and implement a strategic long range plan for the physician infrastructure and systems necessary for Madonnaâ??s achievement of its vision and strategic long range plan relative to Lincoln and Omaha.

  2. Ensures service processes are in place for dialogue regarding business and medical ethics issues within the context of current medical practice, Catholic ethical principles and consistent with the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare Services.  Participate in Medical Executive Committee meetings and others as assigned.

  3. Monitors and interprets changes in regulations impacting physician practices.

  4. Synthesize, analyze, coordinate, compute and monitor the annual physician practice and services budgets relative to Lincoln and Omaha.

  5. Maintain the physician functions in accordance with professional, federal, state and facility regulations/guidelines.

  6. Synthesize, coordinate, analyze, compile and compute operational budgets for the departments in the business segment to maintain expenses and revenue within acceptable limits. 

  7. Analyze data from financial and practice management reports to manage department.

  8.  Coordinate, analyze and compile business/system goals and objectives.

  9. Create, coordinate, analyze and compile documents and personnel records, (i.e., job descriptions, performance reviews, new staff orientation) and contracts (employee and/or external organizations or agencies).

  10. Coordinate, compile and analyze staff workloads to maximize efficiency of service delivery as well as to develop and implement contingency plans addressing occupancy and staff fluctuations.

  11. Provide a leadership role in exploring and utilizing efficient and effective new technology to the greatest extent possible.

  12. Develop and continuously improve a method of handling customer requests and problems in a timely and effective fashion.

  13. Oversee the development and implementation of written procedures required to investigate and/or report evidence of suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of patients in addition to procedures to prevent such behavior and protect patients.

  14. Synthesize, coordinate, analyze, compile, develop, and compute accurate, meaningful productivity and quality improvement measures and safety practices to ensure regulatory compliance, clinical effectiveness and program efficiency, monitoring outcomes on a routine basis and taking effective action to meet such standards.

  15. Synthesize, coordinate, analyze, compile, and compute a long range capital budget for new acquisitions and for replacement items, in accordance with cash flow guidelines.

  16. Maintains awareness of physician practice current trends, problems and medical activities to assist with facilitating policy making.

  17. Works with other medical organizations for outsourced professional services, maintaining optimal business agreements, collaborative relationships and excellent customer service.

  18. Analyzes legislative issues that impact physician practices and clinics and coordinate advocacy efforts for the benefit of the facility or for advocacy for people with activity limitations 

  1. Sedentary work â?? lifting 10 pounds occasionally or lifting and carrying 10 pounds occasionally.  Indoor work â?? not exposed to outside elements or hazard.

  2. Requires sufficient sight to see and read reports and computer screen.  Requires sufficient hearing and speaking to communicate effectively and efficiently by phone or in person.

  3. May be exposed to biohazardous materials.

  4. Mobility required for travel between campuses or for other activities and responsibilities as needed. 


Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Clinical or rehabilitation related area required.  Five years supervisory or management experience  required.  Five years supervisory or management experience in ancillary or physician practice management preferred. Three of the five years must include administrative and operational oversight, program and project development, and multiple site responsibilities. Proven leadership skills, knowledge and demonstrated applicable experience in clinical operations required.  Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills required. Must maintain valid Nebraska driverâ??s license and proof of good driving record.  Applicants must sign authorization forms (when required by the agency) to release information to Madonna.
