The Omaha World-Herald is accepting applications for a full-time Multi-Media Journalist. This is a general beat position that covers spot news, features and sports. This journalist is responsible for producing, shooting/editing video packages on deadline and streaming live shots across online media channels.
This staffer occasionally will be on air. The ability to operate a TriCaster is a plus for applicants; The World-Herald has a working relationship with the local Scripps affiliate.
Key skills are strong news judgment, the ability to work independently and to meet tight deadlines.
Media-related bachelor's degree, Broadcast journalism experience, including strong on-camera skills and the ability to relay clear, accurate and concise information. Exceptional writing, speech, grammar and spelling.
Experience with Final Cut, Garage Band, DSLR, video equipment and LiveU pack.
Ability to carry 25-30 pounds of equipment and work nights and weekends. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
