Job Title: Stocker
Department: Grocery
Reports To: Grocery Manager

SUMMARY

Assists in taking care of Grocery, Frozen Food, and Dairy departments from ordering and stocking of product to maximizing sales and profits for the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure that the customer service 10’ rule is enforced in the department and throughout the store.
  • Unloads trucks and breaks down loads coming in/out.
  • Assists in ordering writing and stocking of shelves using the two hand method.
  • Fills AD items, in store specials and helps in building end displays and promotional items.
  • Cleans sale floor shelves and backroom as well as facing aisles for store presentation and conditions.
  • Must meet company productivity standards when working product to shelves.
  • Coordinate with Grocery manager/ Lead Stocker on daily activities.
  • Keeps back room organized and clean at all times.
  • Must be knowledgeable of all safety regulations pertaining to cutters, lifting, and bailer operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: No prior experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-stepinstructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or novariables.
