LIQUOR CLERK

SUMMARY

Performs a variety of functions within the Liquor Store or Department; Including stocking shelves, rotating inventory and assisting customers as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Ensure that customer service 10’ rule policy is enforced throughout the department and
    store.
  2. Receives and ensures proper storage of deliveries.
  3. Ensures appropriate levels of inventory for product lines are maintained and ordered as necessary.
  4. Cleaning & Maintenance of work area including sweeping and stock replenishment.
  5. Serves retail liquor customers by greeting the; making sure they found all the items they sought; asking whether there is other help or services they need.
  6. Checks-out, verify legal age by checking ID, entering price; scanning prices of marked items.
  7. Handles customer complaints
  8. Collects revenues by receiving cash; making change; checking account debit transfers; verifying credit; completing credit transactions; obtaining customers’ signatures.
  9. Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards.
  10. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing alcohol handling standards; adhering to check-out procedures; complying with sanitation and legal regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be at least 21+ years old and able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of liquor products, CustomerService, Safety Management, Dependability, Attention to detail, teamwork, Multitasking,Proactive, and has quality focus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months relatedexperience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
    instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  2. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  1. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,proportions, and percentages.
  2. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

  1. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables insituations where only limited standardization exists.
  2. Ability to interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
