Clinic Staff Supervisor

~~Our clinic has an immediate opening for a full time clinic staff supervisor.  Must be an RN or LPN, currently licensed in the state of Nebraska.  We specialize in the treatment of asthma and allergic disease.

The practice is located in Bellevue, Nebraska, 10 minutes from downtown Omaha.  Our medical team includes two allergists, Dr. Linda B. Ford and Dr. G. Daniel Brooks, one physician assistant and four allied health professionals.  In addition to our clinic staff we have a research department which concentrates on pharmaceutical protocols.  As a certified pollen counting site, pollen values are reported daily to various broadcast media.  We have a staff of approximately 24.

Education and Experience:
     Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing

Certifications/Licensure requirements:
     Current and valid Nebraska RN or LPN license required
     Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required


·         Perform and direct patient care services including assessment, procedures, accurate documentation, education, and maintain timely patient flow

·         Triage patient care to ensure priority is provided to patients in an emergency situation

·         Assist clinicians with exams, treatments, procedures and testing as directed

·         Administer allergy injections, adjust doses as needed

·         Oversee and assist extract department

·         Check for any new extract orders

·         Confirm insurance coverage through Billing Specialist

·         Check expiration dates on active immunotherapy vials

·         Have the knowledge on how to charge for the extract

·         Schedule and provide patient instruction(s) for tests, treatments, following correct insurance protocol

·         Provide patient and family education pertaining to health care management, disease process, treatment, test(s), medication and follow-up under direct supervision of the clinicians

·         Maintain/update patient education materials and consent forms

·         Receive and respond to incoming calls as appropriate

·         Triage patient telephone calls under the direct supervision of the clinicians

·         Administer prescribed medications, as ordered by the clinicians

·         Perform related functions: - prepare room for daily patient care - clean rooms between patients - responsible for sterilization and disinfecting medical equipment - restock supplies

·         Maintain Xolair records, ordering, prior authorizations, online set-up for new starts

·         Delegate jobs/procedures as needed

·         Order drug, supplies, and equipment

·         Train new medical employees to all procedures/clinical operations

·         Function as a resource person for clinic staff involving patient care issues

·         Perform phlebotomy, lab procedures and communicates results to the patient as ordered by the clinicians

·         Assume responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in clinic meetings, in-service programs and continuing education programs

·         Demonstrate a professional attitude and approach with patients, families, and all others while ensuring confidentiality of patient

·         Assume responsibility for compliance of the office with established departmental and organization policies, procedures and objectives concerning quality improvement, safety, environmental conditions and infection control

·         Schedule staff according to clinic needs

·         Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the clinic is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner

·         Be expected to coordinate efforts to effectively work with others in a manner that is productive

·         Interact with fellow employees in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment

·         Perform other diverse duties as requested or required by immediate supervisor and/or administrator/practice manager

·         Detail oriented
