Right at Home is a national home care company that is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to oversee the entire human capital experience spanning between the RiseMark Holding’s LLC. corporate division, various RAHCO, LLC. corporate owned entities and the Right at Home, LLC. international Franchise System. Responsibilities between the divisions are likely to overlap and include:

  • Championing the global human capital experience – with key focus placed on the employee experience.  This includes (but is not limited to) the sourcing, hiring, orientation, training, empowering, and retention processes utilized by the global Right at Home Franchise System, and Right at Home Corporate Owned locations and Corporate Office. 
  • Working directly with (or alongside other corporate staff); Franchisees, International Master Licensees, Corporate Owned Branch Directors, HR team members and various other corporate stakeholders to develop and leverage an international mindset/process and improve the overall employee experience (care staff, office staff and corporate). 
  • Working closely with the Field Operations and Organizational Learning teams, this individual will; evaluate current programs and processes, champion the development, training and execution of new programs and processes to enhance the human capital experience.
  • Providing management, leadership and direction to the entire HR team.
  • Consulting and advising leadership team on human capital strategy and culture of the organization to align with core values and business objectives.
  • Leading human resource administration in all areas including:  compensation and benefits, workforce development and planning, recruitment and retention, performance management, employee relations, employee investigations, managing and training on HR software tools, HR policies and procedures, developing and refining the corporate culture, etc.
  • Leading human resources for corporate owned locations, including establishing and monitoring processes for compliance with state and federal hiring and licensure requirements.

Qualified candidates will have strong experience in all aspects of human resource administration and workforce development in a service-based industry.  The candidate will have the ability to create meaningful programs, drive change and lead/influence a diverse group of business owners and leaders.  Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with strong business acumen and interpersonal savvy are critical.  The candidate will possess strong attention to details, time management skills, ability to organize work and multitask.  Excellent management, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills are necessary for success in this role.  The candidate will have the ability to work with a wide variety of people, develop positive working relationships and possess excellent customer service skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Corporate & Corporate Owned Responsibilities:

  • Administers and assures consistent compliance with all applicable federal, state and local labor and employment laws, regulations and mandated health benefits including: EEOC, FCRA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA and unemployment claims.
  • Manages, motivates and trains the HR department. Builds a department structure that can meet the needs of the organization.
  • Ensures human resource policies are: Current and in compliance with applicable laws; clearly documented; employees are trained on policies; and policies are implemented and adhered to uniformly.
  • Advises, assists and oversees hiring managers in performance improvement, progressive discipline and termination processes.
  • Works closely with leadership on organizational design and alignment.
  • Champions and drives continuous improvement in all areas of the human capital experience, including the sourcing, hiring, orientation, training, empowering, and retention components.
  • Oversees the talent acquisition and hiring process.
  • Administers FMLA as required.
  • Complies with annual reporting requirements.
  • Communicates and oversees administration of comprehensive benefits plan. 
  • Works with brokers and carriers to ensure benefits offered are competitive. 
  • Handles grievances and works with appropriate parties to resolve.
  • Participates in leadership discussions and assists in strategy development and execution in support of overall mission and objectives.
  • Advises executive team regarding human resource trends and issues

Responsibilities applicable to the Right at Home Franchise System:

  • Works with leaders across the Right at Home System and industry, evaluate global best practices regarding employee experience programs and prioritize, develop and socialize programs that have value across the entire System.
  • Creates, develop and present programs through use of sound project management skills and strong communication skills.
  • Works closely with Organizational Learning (and at times Field Operations team) to develop and deliver relevant training (in-person, online, etc.)
  • Develops and integrates tracking mechanisms to provide a complete picture of the entire employee  experience, its effectiveness, and make changes/adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborates and trains internal support staff on the employee experience programs/tools so they can reinforce key messages, processes and tactics to Franchisees and International Master Licensees.
  • Delivers regular updates to senior management and the System through various means of reporting (e.g. presentations, written communications, webinars, task forces, conference calls, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:  

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. Master’s degree and HR certification a plus. 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of seven (7) years’ human resource experience with demonstrated experience of progressive (human resource related) responsibilities including workforce development and proven human capital strategy.  Minimum of four (4) years’ management experience in human resources required.  Proven experience with employee acquisitions and retention practices.   Experience in organizational development and succession planning.

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS / ABILITIES: 

Ability to teach others, work with a wide variety of people and maintain a positive attitude at all times. Skilled in creating, presenting and implementing concepts and leading change across a diverse group. Ability to make appropriate and timely decisions based upon current circumstances and future needs. Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to maintain highly confidential and sensitive information. Ability to manage an effective and efficient team through ongoing feedback and fostering an environment of approachability, accountability, collaboration, integrity and authenticity. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; excellent attention to detail; self-starter with ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment; excellent project management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize work load and adhere to strict deadlines. PC skills and a familiarity with office equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment with some travel required (including international travel).  Ability to work varying hours (as needed) in support of global initiatives and schedules.
