Summary
The Refugee Resettlement Program is the first point of contact for newly arrived refugees and assists refugee clients with key needs such as housing, healthcare, life skills and employment. This position provides transportation to current clients to appointments including medical, employment, school enrollment and grocery store. This position will also assist the Refugee Services Coordinator and volunteers in picking up donations for the program and setting up apartments to ensure refugees have a furnished apartment to move into upon arrival and receive the services they need after arrival.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates pickups of large donations of furniture, which includes communicating with donors, collecting donations by truck, and organizing in warehouse from the direction of the refugee services coordinator.
Assists setting up apartments for newly arriving refugees with Refugee Services Coordinator and volunteers. This includes lifting and carrying heavy items, sometimes up stairs and in tight areas.
Provides transportation to refugee clients to appointments such as medical, employment, school enrollment appointments. Works with case managers to schedule time efficiently.
Assists Refugee Services Coordinator with client bus training as needed.
Records client interactions in case notes and keeps updated records as necessary.
Delivers all services in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner; provides translation and interpretation services as needed to facilitate refugees’ participation in the services specified; works with third-party interpreters when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
Demonstrates proficient computer skills and familiarity of Microsoft Office software applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. May also require the ability to use Access, and desktop publishing software as required. Ability to learn and effectively use various data collection and database management systems to record data as required. Demonstrates familiarity and proficiency with Internet tools and techniques for searching, extracting, and processing information.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Licensed to operate a motor vehicle and ability to meet agency auto insurance coverage requirements.
