Full time Staff accountant and Tax Preparer wanted immediately for central Omaha CPA firm. College degree with major in accounting, December 2021 Graduates are eligible as well. At least (1) one tax season tax preparation experience is preferred, but not required. As a Staff Accountant/Tax Preparer, the individual will be exposed to a variety of clients and have the opportunity to successfully work on a wide range of accounting and tax projects. This individual will work closely with managers and partners to continue gaining knowledge on more complex tax situations. Knowledge of GAAP, Prosystem FX tax program, Excel, Word, and QuickBooks experience helpful. Excellent compensation, benefits and flexible working conditions.

Position Responsibilities:

Introduction of Individual and Business taxation
Introduction and preparation of Individual Federal and State tax returns
Introduction and preparation of simple Business Federal and State tax returns
Introduction and preparation of simple partnership Federal and State tax returns
Introduction and preparation of research of basic tax issues
Introduction and preparation of Federal and State payroll tax return
Introduction and preparation of personal property tax returns
Introduction and implementation of QuickBooks and basic accounting service functions
Introduction and preparation of depreciation schedules

Position Qualifications:

Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar business degree
Must have proficient computer skills
Must have strong oral and written communication skills
Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with project deadlines, and be able to multitask
Must be willing to work additional hours between January - April and on an as needed basis due to other project deadlines
