H&M Trucking is a well-established asset based transportation company looking for an experienced, self-motivated, team player to lead and drive results in our recruiting department. The ideal candidate would enjoy a fast paced environment, be able to multi task, set priorities and meet deadlines. Communication, organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure are very important. The applicant would be a proactive and motivated self-starter who appreciates a great opportunity. Candidate must have recruiting experience. Compensation will be based on experience and skills.

Summary:  Recruiters perform a critical role in growing H&M’s driving fleet of safe, service orientated driving professionals.  As a recruiter you will pro-actively recruit, screen and hire qualified drivers for H&M Trucking in approved geographic regions and in accordance with company guidelines, DOT regulations and Federal and State Employment Laws.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Source driver leads and contact potential candidates via phone, social media, email or fax to establish contact and begin building a rapport to develop a continuous pipeline of new drivers.
  • Know and understand driver qualifications standards, DOT regulations, federal and state employment laws.  Execute daily practices that support those qualifications standards and regulations
  • Obtain driver leads and contact potential candidates via phone, email and fax as necessary to establish contact and begin building a rapport.  Pro-actively reach out and engage every qualified lead.
  • Answer incoming calls and inquiries generated from various sources such as ads, networking, etc. Guide candidate in screening process to determine eligibility from information supplied to the company according to standard criteria.
  • Conduct interviews via phone or in person and disseminates company information regarding potential employment opportunities.
  • Sell H&M Trucking by being a positive “first contact” and company advocate by accurately and professionally expressing the opportunities and benefits of driving for H&M.
  • Coordinate with the safety department in getting needed information (MVR, background check, physical, etc.).
  • Execute conditional offers of employment or issues denials of employment to no-qualified applicants determined by regulations or company standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend beneficial recruiting resources to utilize to successfully generate leads and attract potential drivers to meet Company hiring goals.
  • Maintain/update applicant database and provide reports as requested such as sourcing reports, applicant tracking and other recruiting based data as directed by management.
  • Maintain networking sites such as website, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Requirements:

  • Background in recruiting and making hiring recommendations.  Experience in driver recruiting for the transportation industry preferred.
  • Proven sales skills!
  • Effective interpersonal communications skills- oral and written. 
  • Pleasant and assertive/persuasive personality
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement, initiative and ability to make sound business decisions based on multiple data sources.
  • Must be able to effectively and accurately work with a sense of urgency
  • Possess effective organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple candidate/applications at the same time
  • Ability to maintain composure and react professionally during periods of stress
  • Demonstrate confidential standards and judgement in handling personal information
  • Must be self-motivated, able and willing to work independently and get results
  • Proficiency in various computer programs and a willingness and ability to learn new software programs.
