Cabela's the World's Foremost Outfitter of Outdoor Gear has an opening for an Corporate Recruiter in the Human Resources Department.  This position is located at our corporate office in Sidney, NE.

DESCRIPTION:

The Recruiter position handles all recruitment activities pertaining to filling high level, professional positions (Manager of Function, Manager of Individual Contributors) as well as niche jobs (technical jobs and various niche Manager of Self) for the corporate headquarters in a timely manner. Knowledge of all departments within the corporate structure is critical.  Activities of this position include relationship building with both hiring managers and active/potential candidates, screening/interviewing candidates, and understanding best-fit for candidates and the department. The position must aid in the development of recruitment strategies that align with business unit goals and key initiatives that they must fully understand within the business.  This position is also responsible for all actions that assist in filling the level of positions listed above such as pipelining candidates, sourcing passive candidates, utilizing appropriate advertisements, and employing other innovative ways to increase candidate numbers.

KEY DUTIES:

Recruitment:
Works closely with hiring managers and business partners to identify the recruitment needs of the department.  Manages the requisition process through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), develops recruitment plans, proactively manages the process of filling positions, has the foresight to manage through challenges and provides solutions/remedies to difficult situation, and provides guidance to the hiring manager.  Guidance provided includes, but is not exclusive to:

  • requisition management
  • behavior based methodology
  • interpreting policies and procedures, and providing recommendations
  • sharing best practices
  • educating and ensuring compliance
  • partnering with managers to source quality candidates
  • non-traditional remedies that are within guidelines and policies
  • offer administration
  • initiating onboarding

Relationship Building:
The Recruiter fully understands the strategies of the business and institutes superior customer service skills to ensure the job seeker/candidate and hiring managers have an experience that is:

  • fair and informed experience
  • supports the company vision and values
  • consistent, unbiased and supporting EEO guidelines
  • positive and establishes a good partnership


Sourcing:
Formulates responsive recruiting strategies and proactively identifies effective sources or other creative techniques to identify the best pool of candidates in a timely and cost effective manner.  Utilizes various methods to source for the positions including resume searches, cold-calling/communicating, social media strategies, employee referral, internal posting program, networking activities, outreach and partnering with community organizations, college recruitment, job fairs, online and print advertising, and recruitment activities. 

Process Improvement and Training:
Continually strives to improve recruitment processes and strategies.  Monitors employment laws and policies, hiring processes, and makes recommendations for change as needed.  Provides information and training to hiring manager during hiring manager meetings and/or in classroom setting.

Systems, Reporting, and Data Integrity:
Ensures the ATS is accurately maintained to reflect Recruiters requisitions and to support the departments metric reporting. Ad hoc reporting may be required and requested.  Collaborates with other HR disciplines (Compensation, Benefits, Business Partners, etc.)  to ensure all information is accurate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's Degree or Apprenticeship
  • 1-8+ years of experience
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Passion for building environments of engagement that translates into a company culture.
  • Developing and analyzing employee engagement data and recommending improvement plan experience.
  • Creative out of the box thinking.
  • Various Recruitment Certifications (i.e. AIRS) preferred
  • Well versed in social media, particularly LinkedIn

Cabelas offers four levels of a Recruiter. Candidates will be considered for any of the four. The future incumbents offer of position level will be based on the candidates experience and work responsibility.
