Cabela's has an opportunity for a Field Support Project Manager in our Retail Field Support department. This position will be based out of one of our retail locations.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Field Support Project Managers will be responsible for assembling, scheduling and leading a team of 25 or more team members in the successful, timely completion of a new store set up, or existing store remodel. Accountability/Communications which will comprise of a successful completion of stores merchandising to Cabelas standards, by supervision of resources, numerous project timelines, merchandise arrangements and the visual impressions of merchandise. Project Managers will support in collaborating and coordinating the pre-planning of new store merchandise layouts, as well as working collectively with purchasing and space planning groups to ensure proper execution of Cabelas programs during the store set up/remodel. Responsibilities will also include overseeing and providing direction to new store management teams, and new store associates, while leading with passion and supporting the Cabelas culture.
Assure on-time arrival and placement of vendor fixtures for all merchandise divisions by contacting Category Managers and providing timelines for vendor fixtures to assure product presentation.
Assure that product flow and adjacency adhere to company standards by coordinating meetings with Sr. Visual Merchandise managers to assist in mapping of new store merchandise layout and offer feedback on plan-o-gram adjustments in each project.
Follow floor plan allocation schedules and adjust schedule as needed based on product delivery to ensure product planning stages are completed on time through communication and follow-up with Category Managers.
Assure retail staff and resources are allocated for new store and existing store remodels by hold meetings to communicate clear direction to team by provide merchandising standards and maps to ensure proper store set.
Troubleshoot challenges related to assigned merchandise area(s) by offering resolutions to problems that may become apparent during store set-up.
Establishing equipment and supply requirements for all new stores and existing remodels, by reviewing floor plan of each store and evaluating the amount of supplies and equipment required to maintain the building and property.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Vocational/Technical School Certificate
2 to 4+ Years Experience
5 to 10 Years work experience in retail or other related field, or at least 3 years of "Big Box" experience required
Must be able to travel extensively both in the United States and internationally.
Senior Merchandise Manager, Store GM or a strong background in Retail Management and Merchandising, Operations Manager, Construction Manager.
Necessary skills would include product knowledge, ability to manage and complete multiple projects, capable of working with a limited time frame in a new store environment, willingness to cross train in other departments, and advanced leadership talent.
Offering Legendary Customer Service involves this position having access to be able to run programs that access the customer's unencrypted credit card, to be able to retrieve unencrypted cards for handling mail in returns, CLUB Visa Cards when customer is on site and left cards at home, research transactions for lost receipts, etc. With this said, this position requires the ability to access customer information including unencrypted credit cards.
