Position Overview: The Asset Protection & Safety Manager will work to positively impact Asset Protection & Safety Awareness, Loss Investigations, Physical Security, Merchandise Protection, exception reporting and root cause analysis. Actively limits exposure and liability for the company by making smart and ethical business decisions. In order to provide legendary customer service this individual requires a strong commitment to the Cabela's customer experience. The APM will develop strong partnerships with Leadership and Outfitters in their Retail Store, while also delegating tasks and responsibilities to hourly AP team (if applicable). Leaders must possess the ability to communicate both verbally and written, influence others, and to interpret data. The role requires individuals to maintain confidentiality and work independently without direct supervision.
Essential Job Functions:
Instrumental in Asset Protection Awareness promoting collaboration and assistance to protect employees, customers and bottom line. Awareness will be targeted around theft trends, shrink reporting and root cause analysis.
Inventory shrink reduction efforts to minimize bottom line loss in the retail store. This includes the training of both Outfitters and Retail Managers on trends to help limit loss. Measured through formal visits, physical inventory results, ability to diagnose root cause and develop partnerships to minimize loss.
Responsible for the Professional Development of self and Retail Asset Protection Specialists (if applicable) through successful on-boarding, training and coaching. Responsible for driving recognition and engagement of Asset Protection Specialists (if applicable) and retail Outfitters. Measured through formal visits, training completion and regular business reviews.
Active member of the Safety Committee and ensures key initiatives, compliance and tasks are completed on time. Performs Safety audits / observation programs as prescribed to ensure compliance and behavioral aspects of the Safety Culture. Ensure Safety programs are being communicated, executed and delivering positive results. Requirements.
Responsible for the professional development of partnerships with Senior Management in the Retail Store to further develop business acumen and obtain buy-in for the Retail Asset Protection function.
Timely, legal and effective internal and external investigations that limit liability while reducing the overall impact to the companys bottom line. Measured through investigative productivity and training.

4 to 6+ Years' Experience
Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) (preferred)
Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) (preferred)
Wicklander Certified (preferred)
Hiring preference is given to qualified candidates who have achieved a Bachelors Degree or Higher Education in combination with 4-6 years of Asset Protection or Loss Prevention Experience. Hiring preference is also given to candidates who have completed their LPQ or LPC Certification and have completed Wicklander Interview/Interrogation Training.
Offering Legendary Customer Service involves this position having access to be able to run programs that access the customer's unencrypted credit card, to be able to retrieve unencrypted cards for handling mail in returns, CLUB Visa Cards when customer is on site and left cards at home, research transactions for lost receipts, etc. With this said, this position requires the ability to access customer information including unencrypted credit cards.
