JOB DESCRIPTION: Develop and execute strategies that optimize sales, inventory and ROI through the effective distribution and transfer of Cabela's product assortment. Responsible for the forecasting and inventory management of replenishment merchandise and allocated merchandise for vendor to DC, vendor direct, crossdock and DC to store. This position ensures inventory arrives at the DC and the movement of inventory to the locations at the right time. Responsible for retail store inventory analysis, including retail flyer performance. This position is a key decision maker; they own the final decision on up to 100 million dollars in product. This has a significant impact on sales, margin and turn performance for the entire company. This position is responsible for vendor management and plays a material role in all buying decisions.
Responsible for developing and executing allocation and replenishment strategies using Evant and Allocation to set the quantities to ship from vendor to DC, vendor direct, crossdock, DC to store replenishment and allocation orders. Sets parameters for system to release purchase orders. Ensures the correct balance of inventory between retail and direct channels to maximize sales.
Responsible for lead-time and review period parameters to ensure the Evant system orders the correct product, at the correct time, in the correct quantities, and that orders are placed for allocated products. Responsible for order frequency simulations for all channels.
Provides strategic guidance to the development and execution of merchandise financial plans and channel plans. Assists with the development and execution of assortment and inventory strategies for the category for all channels, including key decisions surrounding parameters for Direct Channel reserve inventory and retail store inventory analysis. Analyzes SKU level performance on a weekly basis to make recommendations on mark downs for slow sellers, additional buys for best sellers, and promotional opportunities for overstocked items. Responsible for presenting those recommendations in the weekly performance review. Collaborates with the Assortment/Item Planner to determine the demand by channel to achieve company financial goals.
Responsible to be the key liaison between Merchandising, Planning, DC's, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, Demand Forecasters and Regional Merchandise Manager's. Decisions, communicates and coordinates process exceptions to meet business demands, i.e. pulls and pushes of product. Plays a key role in the analysis and development of Demand Forecasting profiles and outputs.
Key decision maker surrounding purchase orders. Provides the Inventory Coordinator the information for Purchase Order creation. Responsible to escalate or follow-up with action plans and communication with the pod team regarding any changes to the purchase order.
