Live...Dream... Work the Adventure! Cabela's has an opening for a Part-Time Firearms Inspector at our Tulalip, WA retail store.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for assuring that all firearms entering the store are secured in accordance with established policies and procedures.  This position requires the ability to safely handle firearms and adhere to state, federal and company firearm regulations. This position also requires the ability to provide legendary customer service and interact with customers in a polite, friendly manner at all times.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure each firearm that enters a Cabela's Retail Store is properly qualified, handled and secured in accordance with the established policies and procedures. This includes but is not limited to qualifying the customer's firearm(s) as well as using the approved bullet trap, Empty Chamber Indicators (ECI's) and trigger locks to ensure firearms are properly secured. This position is also responsible for communicating to firearm runners the need for a firearm to be escorted in the store. Finally, all firearms must be logged appropriately into the Firearms Inspector Log Book. Loaded and Jammed Firearms must be communicated accordingly to management.  .
  • Provide legendary customer service by welcoming customers into the retail store in a polite, friendly manner.
  • Effectively communicate potential customer service concerns to members of management regarding the safe handling of firearms to ensure the safe environment is maintained. 

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 0 to 2+ Years Experience
  • Hiring preference is given to those with solid knowledge of firearms and at least six months to one year of related field experience.

 

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to read documents, printouts, reports, computer screens and other written communication.
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers and co-workers.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk to assist customers at the entrance for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to stock product at various racking levels, use step-stool or ladder, etc.
  • Must be able to place product on/off conveyor, trucks, shelving, etc.Must be able to write, type and use phone system.
