ReStore Assistant Manager

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the ReStore management team in ensuring efficient and effective day-to-day operations in the Habitat ReStore. Standard responsibilities include staff scheduling, direct management of staff and volunteers, opening and closing the store, and customer sales and service. In addition, this position is responsible for creating a culture of customer service excellence within the Habitat ReStore; this includes direct training of staff and volunteers on customer service related issues, merchandise layout, store cleanliness and safety. 

 

Requirements

  • Provide day-to-day direct supervision of staff and volunteers.
  • Provide support and back up to the ReStore Manager.
  • Ensure staff and volunteers are properly trained on Habitat Omaha ReStore policies and procedures and store design, layout and safety;
  • Directly train and mentor staff and volunteers on providing exceptional customer service;
  • Assist ReStore Manager in addressing employee performance issues;
  • Provide input and suggestions on merchandise layout in order to maximize customer appeal and friendliness;
  • Research and recommend product price points and merchandise mix;
  • Foster strong relationships with ReStore donors and customers;
  • Promote a positive image of the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity in general. 
  • Assist with marketing and developing/conducting sales campaigns.
  • Identify new donor opportunities through networking and community building; 
  • Assist in maintaining all store equipment ensuring they are all in working condition and that routine maintenance is performed on a regular basis.
     

SUPERVISION:

This position provides direct supervision of Customer Service Associates and other staff volunteers.

  • Adaptability . . . a quick, sound and positive decision-maker in rapidly changing conditions by anticipating, addressing and solving problems; 
  • A relationship builder for cooperative, mutually beneficial and long-term relationships;
  • Project a professional image in speech and demeanor in interactions with others in multiple venues and scenarios; 
  • A history of successfully adapting to rapidly changing conditions with unexpected shifts in priorities;
  • Ability to safely lift and position up to 50lbs.  Job could entail occasional bending, kneeling and reaching, often in awkward or tiring positions. A part of each day will be spent standing, walking and otherwise assisting customers.
