Data Analyst III (Business Analytics/ Tableau- *remote eligible*)

We are seeking a talented, self-motivated, collaborative individual to join our growing Business Analytics team.

Position Purpose:

Data Analyst IIIs develop actionable insights and recommendations for business operations. This job involves tasks such as creating Tableau dashboard reports, working with the business team and web developers, creating business intelligence reports and visualizations, and attending feedback sessions to improve systems. The position includes managing and creating dashboards, with the ability to apply changes and updates. Developments dashboards on own, while also assists in the supervision of lower level analysts in creating dashboard templates and designs. Leads the team in dashboard design.    Data Analyst III's create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge and enhance our business intelligence system to help us make better decisions.                               

Organization:

This position reports to the Business Analytics Manager

Essential Job Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • The primary role of a Data Analyst III is to create data visualizations to support business operation's data needs. The business needs will be met by translating their requirements and finding innovative resolutions to the brief. Analyst will go through requirements gathering and concept design with the team before beginning dashboard development.
  • Design, build, and deploy BI solutions
  • Data Analyst IIIs are fluent in descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
  • Data Analyst IIIs create tools to store data effectively within the organization, known as online analytical processing, as well as maintaining data analytics platforms so that data can effectively be mined for information at a later date.
  • Data Analyst IIIs conduct database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues that arise. This is an ongoing part of the development process that occurs regularly throughout a project to pick up on any part of the application that is not working correctly.
  • A key part of the analyst's role is evaluating and improving existing systems that are in place as well as collaborating with teams within the business to integrate these new systems to streamline workflow and company processes. This is done through business reviews for assigned segments of the business.
  • Data Analyst IIIs also develop and update technical documentation for senior members of staff and colleagues within the IT department to serve as a reference guide.
  • Data Analyst IIIs mentor and assist lower level analysts; assisting with dashboard creation, SQL query support, and additional support as needed.
  • Data Analyst IIIs manage Tableau Server user permissions, schedules, and optimizations
  • Additional duties as assigned

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required (in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, information technology, or similar preferred). Masters degree in related field preferred.
  • Strong background in latest versions of Tableau Server (2020.x)
  • 6+ years of experience within a Tableau Desktop environment; developing worksheets, dashboards, data extracts, scheduling, performance tuning and stories in Tableau.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into visual designs for interactive dashboards is required
  • Ability to tell a story with data
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Experience with Tableau Server administration required
  • Experience with ETL solutions preferred
  • Experience with SQL, Stored Procedures & writing complex queries preferred
  • Experience working on Enterprise Data Warehouse environment preferred
  • Experience with R, SAS, or Python
  • A keen eye for details and aptitude for working with data
  • Highly accurate and thorough in all tasks

General Areas of Accountability:

Must conduct business and personal affairs in a manner that is always a credit to the company. Must maintain a good credit rating while employed with the company.

Machines and Equipment:

The incumbent must be able to effectively operate the current computer system, telephone system, and other office machines such as copier and fax machines.

Physical Activity:

The incumbent must be able to finger, grasp, feel, see, sit, hear, and speak. This position is sedentary in nature with minimal lifting requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The incumbent works in an office environment that is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions such as heat, cold, or extreme noise. Routine periods of being on the phone utilizing a headset, sitting and data keying are required.

Remote Eligibility: This position is full-time remote eligible. Eligibility is determined by Management or Human Resources.
