We are looking for a talented and reliable Assistant Controller to make an impact while playing a key role in a rapidly growing organization. This is a job for a hard-working and self-starting individual with excellent attention to detail. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in, and at times leading, the preparation of financial statements that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines under the supervision of the Controller. A Day in the Life

In our fast-paced environment here is what a typical day at the office might look like:

  • Coordinating and assisting with the month-end closing process for multiple general ledger companies to ensure accurate and timely completion of consolidated financial statements.
  • Managing all aspects of the general ledger and insightful review of the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies, imbalances, or opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinating and assisting with delivery of accurate and timely management reporting and analysis of actual results vs. budgeted/forecasted results on a monthly basis in accordance with company guidelines and requirements.
  • Assisting with management of accounting staff which includes training, coaching, planning and monitoring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in the formulation of internal controls and policies to ensure best practices. Ensuring the financial records are in compliance with regulations and in-house standards.
  • Assisting with management of outsourced functions such as insurance, 401k administration and coordination with third-party payroll processor.
  • Participating in preparation for the annual review of the consolidated financial statements and the annual audit of the company's 401k profit sharing plan.
  • Assisting with corporate tax compliance to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all tax returns. Coordinating and assisting with preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies including annual reports and state tax filings.
  • Daily monitoring of bank accounts and approval of ACH payments, transfers and positive pay items. Coordinate and assist with process to streamline disbursements.
  • Being a team player, having fun, and helping with other accounting duties and ad-hoc requests.


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years' experience in an accounting environment, with public accounting experience preferred.
  • Understanding of Federal, state and local tax regulations.
  • Self-starter, ability to work efficiently individually and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including excellent Excel skills.
