Non-Income Tax Manager

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Manage multi-state compliance of sales/use, property, motor fuel, gross receipts, Feed, and Canadian GST.
  • Provide timely responses to questions and issues generated by business operations, taxing jurisdictions, and vendors.
  • Identify changes in state tax legislation and apply to compliance and business needs.
  • Conduct tax research.
  • Manage and direct team of two in the tax department to improve and maximize performance.
  • Review, approve, and prepare indirect tax returns.
  • Ensure tax is properly accrued and paid.
  • Ensure tax jurisdiction registration, exemption certificates and business licenses are current.
  • Supervise tax audits.
  • Lead automation project of current systems.
  • Recommend new approaches and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of multi-state indirect tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior staff supervision experience
  • Self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively across the company
  • Proven track record of business process and technology driven transformations
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent verbal communication and written skills
  • Ability to adapt easily to change Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job including but is not limited to: frequent sitting, frequent computer use, and frequent telephone use.
