Overview

This position functions as a team specialist for boarding merchant accounts and providing subsequent merchant support.  Support includes the implementation phase and subsequent servicing of merchant clients using NTS payment processing technology and related services.  As part of the Implementation Team this position is also responsible for the quality review, submission, and verification of merchant processing agreements.   The Implementation Specialist II, will also assist with the training of new team members, register merchants into card association programs, and work on special projects.

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as team member specialist for boarding merchant accounts and providing ongoing merchant support.
  2. Assist with training of new Implementation Specialists.
  3. Assist with and back up Team Lead in review of processor or vendor exception reports.
  4. Review merchant applications for accuracy and ensure all required fields of the application have been completed. Work with merchants to capture missing information if needed.
  5. Enter merchant information into e-file to be submitted to merchant processing bank. Include any required supporting documentation.
  6. Register merchants into card association programs.
  7. Monitor the progress of the merchant setup and follow up with involved parties as needed to ensure timely setup and activation of merchant ID's.
  8. Communicate with the merchant throughout all phases of the boarding process.
  9. Provide support to merchants who choose to offer electronic transactions using NBS technology such as QuikPAY, Commerce Manager, or CryptPAY.
  10. Answer questions related to: account maintenance; statement questions; refund questions; rate questions; compliance questions; miscellaneous transaction questions; other merchant questions that arise.
  11. Provide ideas and suggestions for process and procedure improvements.
  12. Provide statement and reporting training to merchants.
  13. Provide monthly reporting of activities to the Merchant Solutions Operations Manager.
  14. Provide phone support for all NTS merchants and customers both internal and external - as needed.
  15. Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree preferred (four-year degree BA or BS).

 

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Three years of experience in customer service or new client implementation.
  2. Successfully met requirements of Implementation Specialist I (in NTS) position and has held that position for a period of at least one year.
  3. Credit card industry experience.

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal) with the ability to constructively discuss sensitive issues.
  2. Very detail oriented and ability to think creatively.
  3. Ability to work as a team player and establish good rapport with co-workers.
  4. Strong working knowledge of the merchant boarding process and knowledge of the NBS/NTS products as they relate to credit card processing.
  5. Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous, helpful and patient).
  6. Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills.
  7. Strong computer skills (Microsoft applications, internals applications/systems, and the Internet).
  8. Ability to effectively communicate at the level of the merchant.
  9. Ability to handle stressful situations and meet deadlines.
  10. Strong initiative to get tasks and objectives completed without supervision.
  11. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively lead change.
  12. Ability to work overtime as required, without supervision.
  13. Ability to take direction from multiple sources and prioritize effectively.
  14. A positive, can do attitude.
