Overview

Assist in ensuring compliance with the Department of Education and any other contract regulations as they relate to People Services.

 

 

This position requires work in support of the Company's contract with the United States Department of Education (œED).  As such, the United States Government requires that any applicant for this position must complete United States Government security clearance.  Effective June 1, 2018, ED has informed Nelnet that security clearance applications for foreign nationals are not being accepted or processed.  In light of this direction from ED, Nelnet will be unable to hire applicants without United States citizenship for such positions. 

Responsibilities

  1. Provide administrative support for government contracting compliance, including responsibility for all aspects of government requirements for new associates, for instance paperwork, security clearance (fingerprinting and background), mailing compliance packages to new hires.
  2. Update, publish and ensure compliance material is accurate as changes and updates occur.
  3. Manage third party vendors through the background process and ensure vendor associates working on a government contract are background cleared.
  4. Monitor and maintain updates to Service Contract Act (SCA) prevailing wage determinations. Work closely with People Services & Payroll on any updates as it relates to prevailing wages, fringe benefits, and additional payroll items.
  5. Coordinate and support people services with external and internal auditors. Provide recommendations to process as needed.
  6. May prepare or assist with development of training material for government compliance with regard to People Services.
  7. Run reports, maintain and report various data for management. Monitor various compliance exception reports. Manage reconciliation of hired, terminated, and processed records in E-Qip.
  8. Assist facilities and Care Center in tracking badges for new hires and exiting associates and communicating with facilities on progress. Ensure government background processing system is updated for all terminations.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

2-3 years of administrative experience, preferably with a compliance or audit background
