Overview

Work directly as a functioning member of a team within Nelnet. As an IT intern, you will gain a broad understanding of how a variety of teams throughout the Nelnet Lincoln location operate and then take a deeper dive by supporting a specific area of focus. These areas may include:

 

  • Nelnet Business Solutions
  • PaymentSpring
  • CARE Center
  • Desktop Support
  • Database Architecture
  • Software Development + Engineering
  • Coding Development and Testing/QA


Responsibilities

  1. Support department projects.
  2. Research new topics and develop department materials.
  3. Special projects or other duties as assigned.
  4. Attend company orientation and development classes as applicable.
  5. Meet and interact with Nelnet employees at a variety of levels.
  6. Participate in department team-building activities.
  7. Collaborate internally with employees, departments, and customers to accomplish work projects.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Pursuing undergraduate degree in an IT-related field

 

EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of computers: preferably Microsoft packages and familiarity with Internet including ability to use search engines. General knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and computer information systems.
