While working to support our Nelnet CEO as well as our Marketing and Corporate Communications Director, this role will also serve as the face of Nelnet. Provide superior support to senior executives in this fast paced, innovative environment. This role will also serve as the first point of contact for all customers to the Executive Suite.  Ensure a highly personable, courteous and professional presence to all visitors and callers.  Provide back up and support to Executive Assistants as needed.  


  1. Provide support to the Nelnet CEO as well as the Marketing and Corporate Communications Director. Extensive calendar and schedule management.
  2. Coordinates internal and external meetings including scheduling, briefing material preparation and coordination, and follow up as requested
  3. Greets visitors, provide guest badge and notify their host of their arrival. Escort to meeting location as requested. 
  4. Create presentation materials for events/meetings.
  5. Read, research and route correspondence; draft letters and documents; collect and analyze information; conduct research.
  6. Make travel arrangements for Nelnet's CEO and guests
  7. Compile data for reports, including expense reports.
  8. Generate meeting minutes.
  9. Manage special projects as needed.
  10. Support meeting needs of executives. Ensure meeting space is reserved, order/set up lunch if requested, clear and prepare room for future meetings after meeting concludes. Order/purchase break-room items for large meetings.  
  11. Coordinate work space for visiting executives. Ensure space is cleared and ready for next guest upon previous guests' departure.
  12. Monitor and maintain break room and kitchen. Replenish kitchen supplies.
  13. Process invoices and employee expense reports for payment using automated tools.
  14. Book travel for employees using automated tool.
  15. Administrative support for executive and senior management.
  16. Assist in achieving company goals



Associates Degree or equivalent required



5 to 8 years of experience in field or related area preferred.




  1. Exceptional professional demeanor that is very personable and engaging.
  2. Excellent communication skills, clearly spoken, excellent grammar skills.
  3. Strong Microsoft Office suite skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  4. Competent to set up visitors' electronic needs: presentations, projections, etc.
  5. Ability to work in fast paced, meet changing environment with flexibility, enthusiasm and competence.
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple requests effectively.
  7. Willing to take on new tasks, learn new skills.
  8. Ability to self-direct to meet deadlines, anticipate needs, work proactively.
  9. Leadership role in planning, coordinating companywide events
  10. Manage conflicting priorities and consistently meet deadlines
