JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for serving as a Loan Services Assistant, in support of the Loan Services Supervisor, to ensure loan services processes are completed in compliance with Bank policies, procedures and regulations. This includes but is not limited to the following processes: payments, boarding, LAS entries, paid notes, collateral, file maintenance review, reporting functions, bill payment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following.
Boarding loans (30%)
Ensure boarding is accurate, timely, and completed in accordance with existing checklists/procedures.
Verify loan codes to maintain data integrity for regulatory reporting
Process loan entries
Ensure loan documents are fully executed, with exceptions approved prior to boarding
Ensure ticklers and UCC information is added according to existing procedures
Ensure escrow fields are added according to existing procedures
Ensure floorplans are processed accurately and timely
Ensure SNB Mortgages are processed accurately and timely
File maintenance review (20%)
Review loan file & other misc. maintenance for accuracy of input
Ensure ticklers UCC info, escrow and codes are added and accurately
Responsible for processing collateral timely and accurately (10%)
Perfect collateral and protect the Bank’s lien position by filing DOT’s, Mortgages and Titles in a timely manner
Process and file incoming collateral, ensuring collateral exceptions are removed from the exception list timely.
Process Loan Payments, Paid Notes, & Bills (10%)
Process Loan payments and payoffs timely and accurately
Process paid notes timely and accurately
Prepare DOR’s, Mortgage releases, UCC terminations timely and accurately
Ensure bill payment processes are kept current and made timely
Process Reports and Reconcilements (10%)
Process daily monitoring reports, exception reports, nonposts
Reconcile DDA accounts weekly and update Quicken weekly
Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers (20%)
Respond to loan services inquiries received by phone
Respond to loan services inquiries received by email
Process Verifications for Loan Accounts
FULLY QUALIFIED DEFINITION: To be fully qualified in this role, the incumbent is expected to possess or to demonstrate the following skills/capabilities:
Interpersonal or soft skills:
Ability to handle heavy workloads, including multiple tasks and interruptions at the same time, and to be able to independently prioritize those tasks to meet deadlines.
Good communication skills, to be able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Ability to complete all loan services tasks with strong attention to detail, to protect the bank against risk.
Ability to embrace new challenges, and maintain and promote a positive attitude, in a fast paced & change oriented environment.
Proficient with the LAS, to be able to complete all tasks related loan services processes, including boarding, payment processes, researching and resolving issues, etc.
Solid understanding of all escrow processing tasks.
Solid understanding of loan services processes including: boarding, collateral processes, paid notes processes, bill payment processes, reconciliation of loan services dda accounts, exception resolution, etc.
Proficient with navigating in Premier and Director, to research and resolve internal and external customer inquiries, process monetary transactions, and ability to calculate finance charges.
Working knowledge of compliance regulations, including but not limited to Truth in Lending Act (Reg Z), RESPA (for escrow processes)
Efficiency in Word and Excel, to be able to work with and create spreadsheets, understand formulas, and prepare reports.
Specific educational skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, with 2+ years or more of college work in finance, accounting or business preferred.
Knowledge of bank policies and procedures.
Any other specific background/experience they would be expected to possess:
Minimum 4 years of experience with loan services processes.

High School diploma or GED. Some college with emphasis or finance preferred.
Minimum typing proficiency of 35 wpm.
Be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate verbally..
Be able to demonstrate solid math and organizational skills.
PC and 10-key experience desired.
