Truck Driver/Production Specialist (Omaha / CB Metro)


Job Description

Production Specialist / Driver

 Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates. Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule.  Act as back up truck driver.

Essential functions:

  • Get supplies to work stations                                                                         
  • Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyance
  • Operate a forklift
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually, or using hoist
  • Break up defective products for reprocessing
  • Tie product in bundles for further processing or shipment, following prescribed procedure
  • Place product in equipment or on work surface for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping
  • Separate product according to weight, grade, size, and composition of material used to produce product
  • Count finished product to determine completion of production order
  • Insert parts into partial assembly, during various stages of assembly to complete product
  • Feed item into processing machine
  • Examine products to verify conformance to customers’ standards
  • Drive truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver cargo.
  • Operate equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials.
  • Obtain customer signature or collect payment for good delivered and delivery charges.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of truck.
  • Report delays or accidents according to the organization’s policies.
  • Keep inside and outside of vehicle clean.
  • Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
  • Keep record of materials and products transported.
  • Position blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo for transport.
  • Clean, inspect, and arrange maintenance services for vehicle.
  • Inspect vehicle and maintain suggested fluid levels.                                 

Additional functions:

  • Perform other functions as may be assigned from time to time
  • Hours are subject to change

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • One years experience performing similar functionsAbility to perform essential functions of this position with no more than reasonable accommodation as determined by Board of Directors
  • No convictions for abuse, molestation, theft, burglary, robbery, assault, rape and other crimes against another person or property judged to be job-related
  • No founded reports of abuse of a dependent person
  • A satisfactory driving record (no more than three moving violations in the most recent thirty-six month period) and a valid driver’s license appropriate for vehicle type being required to operate
  • Access to reliable personal transportation for job performance as may be occasionally required and having that personal transportation insured for liability, medical, and uninsured and underinsured motorists; proof of insurance must be submitted
  • Not actively using illegal substances


Physical Requirements:

Seeing: Must be able to consistently read reports and use computer

Hearing: Must be able to consistently hear well enough to communicate with co-workers

Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk frequently

Climbing/Stoop/Kneeling: Must be able to climb, stoop, and kneel frequently

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift, pull, and push frequently

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to finger, grasp, and feel frequently

Must be able to write, type, and use phone system.

Occasionally lift floor to waist 10 lbs to 50 lbs 4x each

Occasionally lift waist to shoulder 10lbs to 40 lbs 4x each

Push/Pull 50 lbs
