Residential Services Assistant (2z) - Part-Time


Job Description


Residential Services Assistants help persons with disabilities live independently, in a home based setting, and assist with daily living skills, such as daily hygiene, bathing, cooking and budgeting. Other duties of these positions include taking clients to doctor’s appointments, running various errands with clients, such as shopping and work in various residential home settings.  Must have reliable personal transportation to transport clients to and from activities is a requirement of this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position with no more than reasonable accommodation as determined by Board of Directors.
  • No convictions for abuse, molestation, theft, burglary, robbery, assault, rape and other crimes against another person or property judged to be job-related.
  • No founded reports of abuse of a dependent person.
  • A satisfactory driving record (no more than three moving violations in the most recent thirty-six month period) and a valid drivers license appropriate for vehicle type being required to operate and maintain.
  • Must have access to reliable personal transportation for job performance; personal transportation must be insured for liability, medical, and uninsured and underinsured motorists; proof of insurance must be submitted and maintained.
  • Medication Manager/Aide Certification (can be earned ASAP after employment).
  • Not actively using illegal substances.


Essential functions:

  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free environment.                                                          
  • Provide general supervision and guidance to consumers.
  • Maintain complete and accurate charting and keep daily log current and accurate.                            
  • Administer prescribed oral medication under written direction of physician.              
  • Maintain records of services performed and of apparent condition of consumers.
  • Attend training events as required.                                                                         
  • Attend IPP Individual Program Plan and/or ICP Individual Consumer Program and/or IEP Individual Education Plan meetings as required.
  • Hours are subject to change


Physical Requirements:

Seeing: Must be able to consistently read reports and use computer.

Hearing: Must be able to consistently hear well enough to communicate with co-workers

Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk frequently

Climbing/Stoop/Kneeling: Must be able to climb, stoop, and kneel frequently

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift, pull, and push frequently

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to finger, grasp, and feel frequently

Must be able to write, type, and use phone system.

Occasionally lift floor to waist 10 lbs to 50 lbs 1x each

Occasionally lift waist to shoulder 10lbs to 50 lbs 1x each

Push/Pull 50 lbs

Client transfer chair to chair
