Omaha Operations Manager

SUMMARY 

Directs production, purchasing and planning for the manufacturing facility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Works with the CoE Management Team to develop and implement the strategic business plan.

Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the CoE.

Provide leadership to employees to enhance their effectiveness and professional development.

Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing operations.

Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent operational delays.

Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines and employees.

Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.

Hire and orientate new employees.

Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations.

Plans plant expansions and forecasts labor needs.

Understands, supports, implements and sustains 5S program initiatives and goals. 

Supports and upholds the quality and EHS policy.

Upholds the Core Values.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 40 - 50 employees in the manufacturing area.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.  Also directly supervises 10 - 15 non-supervisory employees.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
