Director of Internal Audit + Work Directly with Leadership Team + Omaha

Our client, a financial institution, has an immediate need for a Director of Internal Audit in their Omaha office.  The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator at all levels of the organization, invested in coaching a team, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.  Our client offers excellent benefits and compensation with the opportunity to grow in your career.  Relocation assistance may be offered for the right candidate. 

Responsibilities:

• Partner with senior management and audit committee to safeguard financial and operational controls
• Establish and implement the annual and multi-year audit plan and risk assessment
• Invest in the development of a team of internal auditors and manage for success and growth
• Identify potential risks to the business and develop proper controls and processes to mitigate risk
• Responsible for approval of all audit reports
• Facilitate internal and external discussion regarding the audit plan and provide fact based recommendations
• Skilled in identifying risks and controls and developing audit tests of controls
• Will serve as the point person for cyclic examinations from regulatory groups and maintain all documentation and recommendations associated with external audits
• Primary resource to ensure controls are established for all new products and services
• Continually monitory and manage procedures manual for audits and update as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 7+ years internal/external audit experience, preferably with a financial institution in excess of $1 billion
• CPA and CIA certification strongly preferred
• Ability to communicate and resolve issues with multiple departments and levels
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to mentor, coach, and lead direct reports
• Demonstrated analytical/interpretive skills regarding laws and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, specifically Excel
• Established time management and organizational skills
