Controller + Self-Starter + Up to $130k

Responsibilities:
 

• Contribute to the company’s strategic planning process and lead the annual budgeting and periodic re-forecasting processes.  Run financial models.
• Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages to company shareholders, board of directors, and financial institutions which include financial statements, covenant calculations, and variance analyses
• Oversee the annual audit process and tax compliance activities, including year-end income tax returns
• Support the CEO in navigating corporate governance activities including monitoring compliance with covenants and agreements
• Oversee office administration, bookkeeping, payroll, AP, AR, and accounting cycles and provide coaching and mentorship to staff including process improvement opportunities
• Undertake analyses and benchmarking activities to improve the financial performance of the company and to optimize the company’s working capital
• Manage the company’s insurance program to ensure that risks are appropriately managed and that assets are properly covered
• Maintain the company’s employee handbook and oversee the company’s HR activities to ensure compliance in all jurisdictions that the company does business
• Manage the company’s IT needs, working with outside service providers to ensure risks are appropriately managed and information reporting requirements are met

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, with a high preference given to a candidate with their CPA
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting or as a Controller in the private sector
• Experience in the agriculture or manufacturing field, strongly desired
• Knowledge of Sage 100 ERP a plus
• Approachable leadership style
