Controller + Work/Life Balance + York, NE

Our client, an established, family-owned manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Controller to add to their team.  In this role, you will manage the day-to-day financial activities of the company.   The ideal candidate produces extremely high attention to detail to maintain an elevated level of accuracy in the company’s financial reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Responsible for billing, financial statements, cost accounting, AP/AR, budgeting, and tax compliance
• Ensure accurate and timely payments of all accounts
• Monitor cash and funding balances
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly
• Responsible for quarterly and annual financial reports as well as budgets and forecasts
• Prepare and file sales tax returns
• Prepare documents and financial statements for internal and external audits
• Advise on financial decision-making with management staff
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements regarding finances, tax filings and financial reporting
• Additional duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 10+ years’ previous experience in a similar or related role
• CPA or CMA preferred
• Previous experience in an Accounting Manager role
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is a must
• Analytical and critical thinking skills
• Effective and professional oral and written communication skills
• Highly driven to meet personal, team and company goals
• Ability to work seamlessly with executives and team members, while showing leadership and support
