FINANCIAL REPORTING LEAD + $90K & BONUS + WORK/LIFE BALANCE

Our client, a solid and stable insurance company, is seeking an experienced accountant from the insurance industry and/or public accounting to serve as a lead in statutory and financial reporting within the organization. This role offers the opportunity to perform the tasks noted below, plus it offers outstanding growth potential. 

General Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly GAAP financial statements, statutory financial statements, management reports and internal financial statements for management, regulators, and external auditors
• Complete monthly statements by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data, trends and information, and researching variances
• Use GAAP and STAT principles to balance accounting related transactions
• Work as part of team to implement new accounting standards for statutory insurance reporting
• Gather and prepare supporting documents for auditors and regulatory agencies
• Identify and implement department process improvements and enhancements
• Ad-hoc reporting and other duties, as assigned

Desired Skills And Qualifications:                                    

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification desired
• Solid understanding of STAT regulations, either through serving insurance clients in public accounting, or through working @ an insurance company in this capacity
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and changing priorities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong Excel skills
