Production Line Lead - Weekend Shift

Weekend Shift

Friday - Sunday     4:30 am - 5:30 pm  (guaranteed 40 hours)

Training will be on 1st shift (6:30 am - 3:30 pm) until about 7/31/18

 

Job Summary:  to oversee the operation of a given line(s) or group of production workers monitoring quality, efficiency, safety and troubleshooting.  Insure procedures are followed and that all those on the line are properly trained in the duties of the job.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential job functions)

  • Responsible for correct number of personnel on line(s).
  • Perform each line function as needed.
  • Insure line has all supplies needed to run.
  • Train new employees (including cross training) and insure all employees are aware of all facets of the job including performance expectations, quality, and safety.  Communicate the critical nature of each of these
  • Performance Goals are set
    • Quality
      • Food & Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines are followed
      • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed
      • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) are followed
      • Product meets all quality expectations; Ex:  Bottles are clean, caps are tight, printing is clear, & labels are straight
    • Safety
      • Proper Personal Protective Equipment is worn
      • Equipment is being used safely
      • Safety procedures and guards are not bypassed
      • Emergency evacuation procedures are followed
  • Insure all paperwork is completed properly – by you or designee.
  • Will document and account for entire production run including usable work orders and documenting scrap, downtime, maintenance issues. 
  • Track line performance to insure high quality product is produced in a timely manner to meet expected production goals.
  • Keep line down time to a minimum, change over & start times are efficient.
  • Keep the production and surrounding area clean and to follow housekeeping procedures.
  • Insure employees remain busy performing work in your area or other areas as needed.
  • Insure production samples are taken properly.
  • Notify Supervisor of performance and attendance issues.
  • Attendance of mandatory meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with others.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
  • Perform work onsite.

     

    Additional Expectations: Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: (Those essential to minimum performance)

  • High school or equivalent.
  • 90 days work on production line.
  • Demonstrated competency on each job on the line (min. 90 days); or
  • Experience in a lead position in manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to train others in these competencies.
  • Proven ability to follow safety, FDA/GMP/SOPS guidelines and general employment rules and guidelines (including general work rules and attendance).
  • Proven ability to learn, implement and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Intermediate skills in math, reading and writing (high school).
  • Ability to direct, communicate, delegate, problem solve, organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English competently.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Certifications, Skills, Abilities: (Those helpful to effective performance)

  • 1 year experience in Lead position in manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced training in Quality Control systems.
  • Advanced math.
  • CRT or computer knowledge.

 

Environmental Conditions: (Note only those above minimal concern or exposure)

  • Manufacturing environment—some temperature extremes, dust, noise, and wet.
