We have an immediate opening for a Service Writer.

Overall Summary

The Service Writer is responsible for accurate entry and management of our sourced parts, to include creating PO’s, tracking of parts, preparing for jobs and management of service warranty parts. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Source parts for all techs as needed
  • Create PO’s for sourced parts to the correct WO number
  • Assist with repair proposals as needed
  • Ensure parts have arrived prior to dispatching
  • Manage the “Parts needed” and Parts on order for Residential, Commercial Service and Plumbing departments
  • Verify parts are on the shelf tagged and ready for Techs to pick up (including stock items)
  • Oversee the Service Warranty parts/returns
  • Work with Purchasing team on prioritization of needed pick-ups/deliveries
  • Scheduling of cranes and lift equipment

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of departmental functions and procedures
  • Working with other departments to establish efficiencies, flow, and function between departments
  • Assist dispatch as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and attributes

  • Computer proficient
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • In depth knowledge of our PO system
  • Highly Analytical and independent thinker
  • Highly organized, ability to pay attention to detail and follow-through
  • Must be able to make numerous decisions independently
  • Some industry knowledge preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting
  • Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing
  • Occasional standing and walking
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

 Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment with occasional lifting or work in a warehouse environment.
