    Job Description Summary
    As the Home Delivered Meals Operations Supervisor, you will assist with the coordination of the service and delivery of meals to homebound elderly and disabled individuals through a centralized metro area system and outlying Senior Centers as well as nursing home and assisted living facility providers.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Must report to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
    • Successfully complete all required pre-service orientation and training.
    • Must insure confidentiality of all client and driver/volunteer information and act in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
    • Be a strong team player with positive attitude toward working with staff and with clients and their formal and informal support systems.
    • Must have good computer skills with general knowledge of Microsoft Office and have the ability to learn other computer systems.
    • Provide direct supervision to paid and volunteer meal delivery staff.
    • Process driver time sheets and mileage forms for all meal delivery staff.
    • Approve driver time in Workday.
    • Provide training and development to paid and volunteer meal delivery staff.
    • Periodic review of meal delivery routes structure.
    • Monitor scheduled routes of each driver, providing for back-up drivers on all routes and deliver meals, when necessary.
    • Prepare monthly volunteer calendars and memos to volunteers and drivers.
    • Oversee the maintenance and usage of the program’s vehicles.

    OTHER JOB DUTIES:

    • Other job duties as assigned by the HDM Division Director or ENOA’s Executive Director.
    • Assist with coordination with the caterer to facilitate the service and delivery of meals from caterer. Assist in day to day operation of the Home Deliver Meal Program.
    • Assist with delivery of meals to home-bound when needed.
    • Assist in meal distribution at food caterer when needed.

    EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited university or college with major work in a human service-related area.
    • Prefer prior experience with or knowledge of the Older American’s Act, as amended.
    • At least one year of professional experience in a human services related field.
    • Prefer experience in dealing with the public and/or with seniors.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
    • Must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License from the State of residence (Nebraska or Iowa) or become licensed in that State within 30 days of date of hire.
    • Must have good driving record (no moving violations within last twelve (12) months or chargeable accidents within last two (2) years, as verified through the Department of Motor Vehicles in each state of residence during that time period.
    • Must never have been convicted of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
    • Must have a car and State required car insurance.
    • Ability to supervise and direct activities of subordinate staff.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of management and supervision Comprehensive knowledge of the social and physical problems confronting elderly persons.
    • Ability to organize and maintain accurate client records.
    • Ability to communicate with elderly persons and feel comfortable with them
    • Ability to interpret and generate data and to use it effectively.
    • Familiarity and ability to drive in the geographic service area in a variety of road conditions.
    • Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
    • Ability to understand and comply with various laws, rules, regulations, policies and guidelines as they pertain to both ENOA and ENHSA.
    • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing and be able to establish effective working relationships with many different people, ranging from caterers, directors, coordinators, professionals, community representatives, pertinent NDHHS staff, other support staff and the general public.
