Get your career off the ground with this Helpdesk Technician position! Do you love computers? Would you enjoy working in a fast-paced but casual environment?  We are a well-established Managed Services Provider in SW Iowa looking for motivated and energetic candidates who desire to learn on the job. Salary range is $30-40K (an hourly position and with overtime, potential to earn in the mid $40’s for the year).

Our ideal candidate has a love of technology and some experience with Windows Operating Systems and networking fundamentals.  Good communication skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to think on your feet are also desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides “ownership” of assigned problems through final resolution. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users
  • Install new software, upgrades, and resolve software related problems
  • Set up, configure, and support LAN, WAN and wireless networks
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems
  • Respond to telephone calls and requests for technical support
  • Document, track and monitor the problems to ensure a timely resolution

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • 2-year technical degree ideal, but equivalent experience will be considered

Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Extensive equipment support experience with Windows based computer systems
  • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
  • Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
