Perform shipping and receiving operations in accordance with established priorities and schedules. Manage paperwork, computer work, labeling, and pallet identification as necessary.
Communicate effectively with area supervison and leads, trucking representatives, and dispatch
Identify problems or bottlenecks in shipping processes and resolves issues.
Ensures resources including materials, equipment, are maintained in approproate working order and stocks are maintained.
Essential job functions:
Create shipping documents for incoming and outgoing shipments using hand-written documents and common computer systems, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Maintain open communication with the Accounts Payable Clerk and the Customer Service Representative to ensure that product is invoiced and received in a timely fashion
Use powered equipment including powered pallet jacks and electric forklifts.
Apply identification labels for chemical and allergen hazards, pallet identification, and product information
Ensure that all Standard Sanitation Operations Procedures are met.
Document any required SSOP audits, HACCP control point control, corrective actions, production tracking, and other documentation as assigned.
Monitor equipment and process to ensure quality and operational standards are met, including but not limited to waste control.
High School Diploma
1-2 years of manufacturing experience in a shipping role
Mechanical aptitude to operate manufacturing equipment.
Communication and organizational skills.
Physical Activities Required
Finger\Hand Dexterity: Use of fingers and hands in writing, moving materials, and processing applications.
Speaking: Ability to relay detailed instructions accurately, loudly, and quickly.
Hearing: Ability to hear average or normal conversations over equipment noise.
Visual: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
Physical Strength: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Exerts up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally.
Extreme temperature ranges from 40ºF to 120ºF. Occasional wet environment.
Mental Activities and Requirements
Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of practical problems.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
