Responsible for testing, inspecting, auditing of products, processes and procedures at various points in the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to company, FDA, and USDA rules and regulations. The technician is also responsible for establishing and executing the disposition of products that do not meet company quality standards.
Essential job functions:
Audit product placement and take corrective actions when non-compliant.
Conduct weight control testing to ensure compliance to company standards.
Verify and document label compliance, HACCP temperature monitoring, SSOP monitoring activities. Take appropriate action to correct deviation or failure. Communicate failures to the Quality Assurance Supervisor or Manager.
Ensure that all Standard Sanitation Operations Procedures are met.
Maintain open communications with the USDA Inspector.
Train employees as needed or required.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Quality Control Technician experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of computers.
Strong math and analytical skills.
Ability to be precise and accurate.
Ability to read and follow documents (Standard Operating Procedures, Hazard Analysis or Critical Control points).
Initiative to self direct work to meet objectives.
Good attendance is required.
Strong communication and organizational skills required.
Technical Writing experience (SOP, SQF, or other technical documents) highly preferred
