Description

Do you have experience in construction billing and change orders?

Our client is looking for a full-time Change Order Specialist in a busy construction/plubming office in Lynbrook, NY office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with project team to identify change orders including actual and potential claims and REA's (request for equitable adjustment).
  • Manage and control systematic and accurate assimilation and documentation of data, while assuring proper notification.
  • Collect supporting data, material breakdown, accurate labor rates, explanation of charges, and the estimated time/cost impact for each proposed change order in accordance with job contract and requirements.
  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track the progress of extras
  • Review vendor/subcontractor pricing and lead time with purchasing department.
  • Coordinate with submittal department to insure specification approvals are submitted, received, and approved.
  • Support project managers, field supers, and foreman with scheduling of change work to be completed.
  • Support final closeout coordination/change order reconciliation with the project accountant, project manager, and project administrator.
  • Maintain pending change order log and follow up with client via phone/email; communicate with Vice President and Department Manager via detailed correspondence.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a Highschool Diploma
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service skills with effective communication and professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Must be able to display effective problem solving techniques and have the ability to remain calm in a high-volume and demanding environment
  • Mathematically literate ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute various rates, ratios, and percentages
  • Relevant construction/mechanical and/or trade experience is desired but not required
