Administrative Secretary / Payroll & Billing Assistant

We are Commercial and Industrial Electrical Contractors located in Omaha, NE, and serving Nebraska and Iowa since 1993. Downs Electric, Inc. offers commercial and industrial electrical contracting for new construction and remodeling projects. We design and build commercial and industrial electrical systems and fire alarm applications. We also provide total cellular construction, repair, and maintenance.

We are looking for an extremely detail-oriented Administrative Secretary / Payroll & Billing Assistant to join our company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support in-office departments with special projects and tasks as needed
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft office - Excel an absolute must
  • A strong working knowledge Quick Books
  • General understanding of Sales and tax forms
  • Able to verify accuracy of contracts
  • General knowledge of Business Insurance

Must have general knowledge of basic accounting, accounts receivables and account payables. This includes weekly payroll processing, billing, deposits, contract processing, collections, accounts payables, credit card processing, bank statements, union reports, monthly and quarterly taxes and much more as needed on a daily basis.  Knowledge of electrical terms is helpful but not required.
