Summary: Small, busy non-profit seeks a dedicated and creative professional to help lead efforts on fund development and marketing.  This position will lead coordination on external fundraising efforts and events. This personal also provides limited operational support to our small office.  


Reports to: Executive Director  


Fund Development (60% of time): 

  • Help develop and implement annual fundraising plan for the organization. 

  • Design and execute fundraising events. 

  • Research and develop grant proposals and track and respond to grant reporting requirements. 

  • Plan and develop fundraising solicitations and other donor communications. 

  • Manage the organizations CRM platform and utilize data to support fund development goals. 

  • Support event volunteers and interns when applicable. 

Marketing (30% of time): 

  • Design and coordinate communications strategy with staff. 

  • Coordinate advance work for conferences, community meetings, receptions and other special events. 

  • Maintain media contact directory and coordinate press releases and responses to press requests. 

  • Track organizational media coverage. 


Operations (10% of time): 

  • Answer phones, direct calls and/or take messages. 

  • Open and distribute mail. 

  • Coordinate mass mailings. 

  • Maintain minutes at board meetings and provide requested assistance to board committee meetings. 

  • Maintain organizational calendar.  

  • Coordinate job postings, candidate materials, interview setup, and candidate correspondence. 



  • Interest in social justice and child well-being. 

  • Commitment to racial justice. 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years fundraising experience. 

  • Creativity. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • High attention to detail. 

  • Experience balancing multiple projects and deadlines. 

  • Outstanding organizational skills. 

  • Experience managing events. 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. 

  • Experience with donor management systems. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area preferred. 

Salary: DOE starting at $48,000. Monthly contribution for health care, child care or other health expenses. 401(k) match, life insurance, optional dental insurance and employee assistance program.
