We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Assistant to strengthen our trial team. The successful candidate will assist during all phases of litigation including conducting interviews, legal research, document filing and attending trials. Our Legal Assistant will be responsible for the coordination of all details before, during and after trial, and will:
Our Legal Assistant also may be required to perform routine office duties such as photocopying, scanning documents, and helping prepare them for court filings. Our Legal Assistant may also maintain litigation files, as well as review and prepare material for retention or disposal once a case has been resolved.
Document-handling is one of the primary day-to-day tasks our Legal Assistant performs. Because of the volume of document preparation and maintenance, you must be highly organized. During trial, our attorneys will rely upon our Legal Assistant to have all documents well-organized and readily available for retrieval.
Communication is another essential skill. Our Legal Assistant will act as a liaison between departments. He or she will have direct communication with clients, witnesses, and court personnel. Your superior communication skills will enhance the success of any trials with which they are involved
Our Legal Assistant also will devote considerable time drafting correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs and many other documents in preparation for court appearances; hearing; depositions and trial. Your outstanding written skills and attention to detail are crucial.
Successful working experience as a Legal Assistant in litigation support. Practical, applied knowledge of motion practice, discovery, evidence, litigation documents, court rules and procedures, and trial preparation. Highly-organized with ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment. Strong written and communication skills along with attention to detail. Extensive computer and database expertise. Paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification preferred
