Job Description

CardFlight is seeking an Android Developer to join our CardFlight Transactional Team.

The Android Developer will work on improving our SDK to allow CardFlight’s applications to move billions of dollars per year. Our transactional platform enables CardFlight’s own apps and third party developers to accept payments on mobile devices. In addition to developing and maintaining the SDK, the Android Developer will help to integrate the SDK with CardFlight’s card readers and will collaborate with other engineers who produce and work with our gateway APIs.

The Android Developer will report to the Chief Technology Officer.

What You’ll Do

Developing & Building (80%)

  • Design, create, and support products for the Android platform on mobile phones and other devices
  • Ensure quality and responsiveness of the products
  • Identify and fix bugs or bottleneck issues
  • Work collaboratively with other developers in an agile environment

Open Source Contribution (10%)

  • Spend up to 10% of your time contributing to Open Source software

Team Engagement (10%)

  • Get involved with company-wide meetings and outings
  • Become immersed in the payments industry
  • Obtain and maintain a full understanding of our clients’ needs

What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • 3+ years of professional Android Development
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • A strong understanding of mobile application development processes
  • A willingness to learn new languages or technologies
  • Superior people skills and a positive attitude
  • The ability to be flexible and flourish in a fast-paced atmosphere while remaining focused, working productively, and successfully juggling many tasks

Nice to Haves

  • 5+ years of Android Development
  • Experience working with the iOS platform
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of the mobile payments industry and technologies
