EAD is one of the Midwests most progressive and innovative construction, controls and engineering consulting firms.  Since 2001, EAD has worked with numerous clients on hundreds of systems in industrial manufacturing facilities that include: food, pharmaceutical, parcel and bio- and renewable fuels.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a professional and satisfactory relationship with project managers, project owners, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders throughout the execution of projects
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the construction effort including field activities of all company personnel on assigned projects
  • Interface with client representatives, A/E representatives and other third parties related to construction activities
  • Review and approve construction related portions of project specific proposals and subcontractor invoices
  • Review site and general arrangements for constructability, receiving and storage plans 
  • Review and support the implementation of Safety and injury reports procedures
  • Review subcontractor schedule, work plans, and manpower reports
  • Assist in preparing a subcontractors bidder list for all construction contracts
  • Review the construction specifications and drawings prepared by engineers
  • Assist in the evaluation of construction bids and provide recommendations
  • Report cost and schedule metrics of construction activities
  • Represent construction at project meetings
  • Support the development of the monthly Owners Progress Report
  • Adhering to all EADs safety standards and practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or other related field preferred; or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
  • 10 years verifiable, relevant construction management experience
  • Experience in large commercial and industrial construction projects
  • Experience with construction in clean room and/or food processing areas highly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills for managing work assignments and employee performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff
  • Proven safety track record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Project or an equivalent scheduling program such as Primavera P6
  • Familiarity with Oracle Contract Management or equivalent required
  • Experience with Procore Construction Project Management software highly preferred
  • Be detail-oriented and demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal project management staff and client staff
  • Possess and able to maintain a valid drivers license

 

Working Conditions:

  • Office, plant, or client site environment*
  • Regularly works in outside weather conditions
  • Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs and/or work in confined spaces in extreme conditions
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration
  • Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud*
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs*
  • Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as needed
  • Travel is required

*EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment as necessary.
