It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work remotely 100% of the time and will share a hoteling workspace if/when working onsite, as determined by business needs. The incumbent can work remotely from anywhere in the United States, unless otherwise specified in the job posting. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

About this Role:



The IBM Power Product Manager, FNTS provides the necessary leadership, facilitation, analysis and designs related to the development of an enterprise technical architecture that ensures the success of enterprise-level technology rollouts. This role is also accountable to provide guidance which ensures the reliability, interoperability and sustainability of the technology and information solutions FNTS adopts. This role works closely with Information Security, Technology Subject Matter Experts, Project Managers, FNTS leadership and as needed with customers.

This position is a remote position( work from home) available to work anywhere in the US. This role is not available for Sponsorship due to current contacts with FNTS customers.

Role Definition

The IBM Power Product Manager has an opportunity to directly influence the direction and roadmap for the FNTS Power Cloud services that provide value to FNTS' customers.  This position is responsible for the technical direction, organizational delivery, and the customer experience associated with the IBM Power Cloud product lines including the IBMi, AIX, PowerVS.  This individual is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the organization in order to ensure expertise in delivering Power products and services.  By applying comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of systems design and analysis, the IBM Power Product Manager mentors staff in technical concepts, practices, and procedures related to the design and delivery of technology and customer experience.  This role is also responsible for managing and monitoring the day-to-day activities associated with delivering the products and services to the customer, including but not limited to, customer relations, support, technology, and architecture standards, and successfully managing technical projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and service delivery direction for IBM Power products.
  • Provide sales support as it relates to designing solutions, licensing, pricing, and optimization of IBM Power cloud solutions.
  • Deeply understand customer needs and evangelize them with a wide set of partners
  • Completely understand the business and financial acumen of the IBM Power products at FNTS.
  • Solve complex problems strategically with results-driven execution
  • Lead initiatives through close collaboration with different teams and external partners
  • Advocate product richness and distill customer feedback for product roadmap
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, blockers and plans to facilitate growth
  • Constantly retrospect, prioritize and course correct to optimize for success
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the technical staff in IBM Power related technical environment
  • Provide IBM Power architecture best practices
  • Keep abreast of IBM Power product feature releases
  • Propose rollout plans for new product features
  • Manage the technical planning and execution of IBM Power projects.

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • IBM Power product expertise including Power 8, Power 9, Power 10
  • IBM Power expertise for IBMi, AIX, and Linux
  • IBM Power software and licensing expertise
  • IBM Power pricing expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • Passion for building great customer experiences.
  • Deep customer & user empathy, and ability to identify customer needs
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication & cross-group skills
  • Exceptional problem solving, strategic thinking and technical skills
  • Self-driven and able to work with minimal direction
  • Track record of designing complex, large IBM Power transformation programs
  • Hands-on expertise in working with complex infrastructure environments
  • Expertise in coordination and escalation to IBM Power support and ability to coordinate with first- and third-party software vendors as needed for resolution of business-impacting problems
  • Managed Service Provider experience
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Aware of best practice security approaches for information protection in a Power environment
  • Able to present business cases, strategies, and solutions to management and customers
  • Excellent customer service

  • Strong business acumen
  • The ability to interact with external customers and to put their request into workable solutions.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, while still developing tactical plans.
  • Demonstrate a consultative approach with the ability to analyze team member and customer's needs.

Compensation range (base pay): $101,640.00-$162,392.00

IMPORTANT - This range is for the primary posting location of: Omaha - FN Tech Ctr

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
