Staff Accountant

Omaha National is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing workers’ compensation and payroll services company.  As a member of the Finance Department, this individual will join an experienced and committed group of entrepreneurial leaders building an exceptional insurance and employer services organization.

The Staff Accountant’s primary responsibilities include preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations, and assisting with monthly close processes. Responsibilities

• Maintain monthly account reconciliations for various general ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Assist with monthly close processes.
• Research, analyze, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Respond to information requests, review financials, and assist with annual audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Provide positive, clear, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Good problem-solving and time management skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel. Demonstrated ability to master other software applications as needed.
