Medical Networks Coordinator

Omaha National Group Omaha, NE
Save

Job Description

Omaha National is seeking a Medical Networks Coordinator to join our growing team.

We are a young, very successful company that is rapidly growing to become a national workers compensation provider. In many states we have the opportunity to establish networks of medical providers to treat our injured workers. To protect the health of the injured workers and ensure their claims are successfully resolved, we seek to include the best medical professionals in our networks while excluding unskilled or unscrupulous practitioners. The Medical Networks Coordinator will lead that initiative.

We’re looking for the right person rather than a specific set of credentials. Previous experience in workers compensation is not required: we will provide extensive training in that area. The candidate may be early in career or possess many years of experience; compensation is commensurate with experience. Of course, the successful candidate must possess knowledge of the business of medicine and a deep interest in medical practice quality. This position will work closely with Claims Adjusting and the other departments in Medical Services – and will also engage in extensive communication outside the company – so strong communication and collaboration skills are required.

This is a rare ground-floor opportunity to join a happy, high-performing team while taking a leading role in creating and growing an important business function.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain networks and panels of medical providers to treat injured workers.
  • Coordinate the selection of network service vendors, the creation and negotiation of contracts with them, and the management of contracted services.
  • Serve as Omaha National’s liaison with networks for outbound and inbound communication regarding issues relating to their services and working to resolve those issues.
  • Provide internal information and support regarding medical networks to Omaha National management and staff.
  • Ensure that networks operate in compliance with Omaha National’s policies, applicable certification standards, and state and federal statutes and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a medical field or comparable work experience in the medical industry, particularly work relating to medical networks.
  • A strong aptitude for research regarding legal requirements and industry practices, including the ability to understand and apply complex legal, medical, and business documents.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends and exceptions, develop plans and proposals, and exercise sound strategic judgment.
Benefits:
Omaha National provides a safe, stable, positive work environment, competitive pay, excellent benefits, 401K, and paid vacation and sick leave.
