Director of Human Resources

Our Firm seeking an experienced human resources professional to lead all aspects of the human resource function including development, administration and evaluation of policies, practices and goals of the department.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Directs recruitment, selection and orientation processes for attorneys and staff;
  • Develops, administers and evaluates employee performance management programs;
  • Works collaboratively to advance the values and mission of the Firm through the attraction, development and retention of top talent;
  • Oversees employee benefits administration including claims resolution, employee change reporting and invoice payment approval;
  • Interprets HR policies and supports management, supervisors and employees in the resolution of people problems;
  • Establishes and maintains all human resource information systems;
  • Annually evaluates and makes recommendations to management for policy/practice improvements to effect continual improvement in departmental efficiency and service delivery; prepares and manages department budget;
  • Ensures the Firm’s compliance with applicable federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters and benefits plans; and
  • Recommends, updates and implements various human resource policies and practices.

    The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field; seven (7) years’ human resource generalist experience and three (3) years’ management or supervisory experience in a professional services organization; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Master’s Degree in HR-related field preferred.
  • Professional certification by Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including public speaking.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization, confidentiality and attention to detail while remaining flexible and responsive when faced with multiple urgent requests.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to include evening and weekend work as needed.
