Maintains heavy construction equipment by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements, lube system repairs and keeping records by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Operate and inspect machines and equipment to gain access for lubrication and preventative maintenance service.
Ability to review and understand the preventative maintenance intervals and schedules.
Perform all work in accordance with schedules, policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety.
Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing when needed.
Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies and performing preventive maintenance.
Shop tools are provided by company. Employee must provide a full general toolbox with some special tools.
Must continue to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical journals and regulation publications.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, responsible and self-motivated required.
Maintain and assure cleanliness and neatness of shop area. Assure safety standards are met.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
A vocation/technical diploma; and at least 3+ years as a Lube Technician; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Ability to work in a high production environment is very helpful.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence to carry out basic instructions.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to operate with minimal supervision, be a trouble shooter and take initiative to investigate and resolve problems. Must be a self-starter. Must be able to work well with others.

The employee is occasionally required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees are required to wear protective safety gear and eye protection.
