PRIMARY FUNCTION: Incumbent works under the direction of the Court Services Bureau Captain or designee, performing a variety of security duties to provide the greatest possible security and safety to employees and visitors of the Hall of Justice and the Civic Center. Incumbent may be called upon to use deadly force to protect the employees and visitors of the Hall of Justice and Civic Center.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation as a law enforcement officer from a state law enforcement academy required. Individuals may also be eligible if they have worked for a Federal Law Enforcement entity for a minimum of one (1) year and are currently certified (as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer) or have worked in the Military Police for at least one (1) year within the past five (5) years. Completion of a pre-employment criminal background check, post-offer drug screen and physical assessment. Completion of all qualifying certifications with an approved firearm, and recertification on a semi-annual basis. Maintain proficiency by qualifying with at least a 70% (unless otherwise specified) on the prescribed course of fire. Completion of all required CPR/First Aid training within the first six (6) months of employment and subsequent recertification. Completion of required Defensive Tactics Course and annual recertification. Completion of required Electronic Control Devices Course and annual recertification. Completion of any and all Entrance Screening Training as determined by the CSB captain.
