PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, supervising psychiatric registered nurse, or designee, the incumbent provides professional psychiatric nursing care to acutely and chronically ill patients and assists supervisor in providing direction and training to other Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) staff. The incumbent performs duties in accordance with CMHC policies and state and federal statutes and regulations. The incumbent collaborates with the registered nurse when making decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current nursing license from Nebraska or a compact state recognized by the Nebraska Board of Nursing at the time of hire, and maintain the license in good standing throughout the course of employment. The license must be held in the state of residence. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. One year related experience in an acute care facility preferred. Applicants may be required to complete supplemental training/testing at the discretion of the Director of Nursing. Current CPR and completion of CPI training within 6 months of hire. Completion of a pre-employment local and national criminal records check, including fingerprinting. Must complete a pre-employment health review as well as a physical abilities assessment.
