Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Incumbent works under the direction of the Director of Nursing or designee, and the close direction and monitoring of a RN or LPN administering select medications and treatments and providing basic nursing and restorative care.

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or GED required.  Successful completion of a State certified 75-hour Nursing Assistant course required and maintained in good standing.  Attainment of a State certified 40-hour Medication Aide certification class and exam and maintained in good standing.  Successful completion of the 10 required competencies of a Medication Aide as defined in Nebraska State Statute within the first 14 days of employment.  One (1) year of experience as a nursing assistant in a skilled rehabilitation, skilled nursing or Long-Term Care (LTC) environment required.  Six months experience as a medication aide in a skilled rehabilitation, skilled nursing or LTC environment preferred.  Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
